Why I started Logical A-

I started Logical A to take on the following -

  • In the US unemployment rate for autistic people is as high as 85%

  • As of April 2020 according to the CDC, 1-34 children will be diagnosed with autism.

  • Only one in five are employed, according to official data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) according to stats from 2022.

  • More than 500,000 teens with autism will become adults by 2025.

  • More than one quarter of graduates on the Spectrum are unemployed. This is the highest rate of any group with disabilities nationally.

  • 10% of those on the Spectrum receive support in finding work, but the majority would like to.

  • Almost 40% have had a paying job after age 16.

  • More than 20% have lost employment due to their autism.

  • My own lived experience as an adult diagnosed in my 30's with autism lead me down this path. Employment has been a constant struggle both pre and post diagnosis. Years of meltdowns and eventual debilitating shutdowns that made me question if I even had value.

The mission

To create a better outcome for all adults on the Spectrum by teaching employers how to connect with and benefit from the unique talent of autistics. This will give employers longer term employees and give those on the Spectrum longevity of employment.

The vision

To lower the unemployment rate, increase the visibility of those on the to companies and remove the stigma of disclosing to employers. If I can impact the life of just one person on the Spectrum so they don't have to travel a road like mine, it'll be a win they no longer have to chase.
